Parameters

Parameters are central resources that are used to define the data inputs for INDAQ. Parameters define how to communicate with your devices, what they mean and how to organize them.

Parameter Name

This is the name of the parameter that will be displayed in INDAQ.

  • When viewing all parameters in a Project.
  • When selecting parameters to display in Charts, Bar Graphs, Dashboards and Queries.
  • Will be used with the parameters' tags for the legend in Charts.

Interval

How often the parameter will be polled by the selected Interface in seconds. Selecting a higher interval on parameters that may not change oftern can help reduce usage billed.

Protocols

Parameters use different protocols to communicate with different devices. View the individual protocol pages for more information on how to configure them.

Scale

The scale is used to convert the raw value from the device to a human readable value. For example, if the raw value is 1000 and the scale is 0.1, the value will be 100.

Tags

Tags can be used to group similar parameters together. Once a tag has been defined on a parameter, it can be used to filter the list of parameters in the INDAQ interface.

Interface

Only one interface can be active at a time for a given parameter.

Select the interface that will be responsible for polling this parameter.
